Affordable home internet for job applications

My home internet costs more than I can manage on unemployment. I am in Albuquerque, in case local advice matters. Some applications need a computer. What else should I consider?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Keep the number you use for job applications, even if you change plans. Employers will call it.
