Worth paying for a certificate? - what worked for you?

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a forklift operator. There are 13 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I would like to use funding if possible. Which ones are overrated?

A hands-on course with a project helped more than a purely online one.

Ask the course provider how many graduates get jobs and where. Honest providers can tell you.
