Worth paying for a certificate? - what worked for you?

A local college offers a course that costs $1100. Any experience at all would help. I would like to use funding if possible. Is there free funding?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 13 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
