Worth paying for a certificate? - what worked for you?

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a call-centre agent. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I am unsure whether employers value it. Did a certificate help you get hired?

Ask the course provider how many graduates get jobs and where. Honest providers can tell you.
