Worth paying for a certificate? - what worked for you?

I saw that many postings ask for a specific certification. I worked as a sales associate before this. I would like to use funding if possible. Did a certificate help you get hired?

A hands-on course with a project helped more than a purely online one.

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.
