Worth paying for a certificate? (update)

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a web developer. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I can study evenings. Did a certificate help you get hired?

Ask the course provider how many graduates get jobs and where. Honest providers can tell you.

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.
