Worth paying for a certificate?, social media manager here

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a social media manager. It has been weighing on me all week. I am unsure whether employers value it. Which ones are overrated?

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.
