Worth paying for a certificate?, procurement assistant here

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a procurement assistant. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I would like to use funding if possible. Did a certificate help you get hired?

The workforce centre told me about training funds I qualified for. It covered most of my course.
