Worth paying for a certificate? - first time posting

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a paralegal. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I am unsure whether employers value it. Which ones are overrated?

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.

Ask the course provider how many graduates get jobs and where. Honest providers can tell you.
