Worth paying for a certificate? - first time posting

I saw that many postings ask for a specific certification. Thank you in advance. I am unsure whether employers value it.

Ask the course provider how many graduates get jobs and where. Honest providers can tell you.

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.
