Worth paying for a certificate?

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a payroll clerk. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I would like to use funding if possible. Did a certificate help you get hired?

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.

Ask the course provider how many graduates get jobs and where. Honest providers can tell you.
