Worth paying for a certificate? after 6 years as a social media manager

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a social media manager. There are 6 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I can study evenings. Did a certificate help you get hired?

The workforce centre told me about training funds I qualified for. It covered most of my course.
