Worth paying for a certificate? after 13 years as an HR coordinator

I saw that many postings ask for a specific certification. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I am unsure whether employers value it. Which ones are overrated?

Ask the course provider how many graduates get jobs and where. Honest providers can tell you.
