Worth paying for a certificate? after 12 years as a home health aide

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a home health aide. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I am unsure whether employers value it. Which ones are overrated?

The workforce centre told me about training funds I qualified for. It covered most of my course.
