Worth paying for a certificate? after 12 years as a forklift operator

A local college offers a course that costs $750. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I would like to use funding if possible. Which ones are overrated?

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.
