Worth paying for a certificate?

A local college offers a course that costs $1200. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I am unsure whether employers value it. Which ones are overrated?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 5 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
