Worth paying for a certificate? - 4 months and counting

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a store manager. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I would like to use funding if possible. Which ones are overrated?

The workforce centre told me about training funds I qualified for. It covered most of my course.
