Worth paying for a certificate? - 11 months and counting

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a mechanic. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I am unsure whether employers value it. Did a certificate help you get hired?

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.

The workforce centre told me about training funds I qualified for. It covered most of my course.
