Who do I ask for a reference after a layoff?, sales associate here

The company closed and I am not sure how to reach former colleagues. I worked as a sales associate before this. A colleague offered to vouch for me. How do you ask politely?

A client reference worked well for me. It shows you deliver outside the company too.

Use a professional network to find a former manager. Many will still write a note.
