Who do I ask for a reference after a layoff? after 10 years as a procurement assistant

I worry a reference will only confirm dates of employment. It has been weighing on me all week. HR only confirms titles and dates.

Use a professional network to find a former manager. Many will still write a note.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
