Which short course helped you get hired? - first time posting

I saw that many postings ask for a specific certification. I am in Baltimore, in case local advice matters. I am unsure whether employers value it. Did a certificate help you get hired?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
