I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a welding apprentice. Thank you in advance. I would like to use funding if possible. Which ones are overrated?

The workforce centre told me about training funds I qualified for. It covered most of my course.

A hands-on course with a project helped more than a purely online one.
