Which short course helped you get hired? - any advice?

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a teaching assistant. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I am unsure whether employers value it. Which ones are overrated?

The workforce centre told me about training funds I qualified for. It covered most of my course.
