Which short course helped you get hired? - any advice?

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a security officer. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I am unsure whether employers value it. Did a certificate help you get hired?

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.
