Weighing a contract offer against waiting - what worked for you?

I got a contract offer for 13 months as a social media manager and I am unsure whether to accept. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I would gain recent experience. What would you do?

I took a contract and it converted after four months. The time also kept my skills current.

Ask about extension likelihood and whether the team has hired contractors before.
