Weighing a contract offer against waiting - what worked for you?

I got a contract offer for 18 months as a paralegal and I am unsure whether to accept. I do not usually post, so bear with me. The contract could extend. How did you handle benefits?

If savings are low, I would accept and keep applying. You can leave for a permanent role if one appears.
