Weighing a contract offer against waiting - what worked for you?

I got a contract offer for 6 months as a sales associate and I am unsure whether to accept. It has been a long 13 weeks. I have 8 months of savings left. Did a contract become permanent?

I took a contract and it converted after four months. The time also kept my skills current.
