Weighing a contract offer against waiting (update)

I got a contract offer for 16 months as a recruiter and I am unsure whether to accept. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I have 6 months of savings left. Did a contract become permanent?

Ask about extension likelihood and whether the team has hired contractors before.
