Weighing a contract offer against waiting - any advice?

I got a contract offer for 14 months as a teaching assistant and I am unsure whether to accept. Any experience at all would help. I would gain recent experience. Did a contract become permanent?

If savings are low, I would accept and keep applying. You can leave for a permanent role if one appears.
