Weighing a contract offer against waiting - any advice?

I got a contract offer for 9 months as a recruiter and I am unsure whether to accept. This is my first time dealing with any of this. The contract could extend. Did a contract become permanent?

Buy coverage through the marketplace if the contract has none. I budgeted for it before signing.

Ask about extension likelihood and whether the team has hired contractors before.
