Weighing a contract offer against waiting - any advice?

I got a contract offer for 6 months as a bank teller and I am unsure whether to accept. It has been a long 17 weeks. I have 8 months of savings left.

I took a contract and it converted after four months. The time also kept my skills current.

Ask about extension likelihood and whether the team has hired contractors before.
