Weighing a contract offer against waiting - any advice?

I got a contract offer for 7 months as a customer-service rep and I am unsure whether to accept. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I would gain recent experience. Did a contract become permanent?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
