Weighing a contract offer against waiting - any advice?

The pay is fair but there are no benefits. It has been weighing on me all week. I would gain recent experience. What would you do?

Buy coverage through the marketplace if the contract has none. I budgeted for it before signing.

I took a contract and it converted after four months. The time also kept my skills current.
