Weighing a contract offer against waiting after 8 years as a recruiter

I got a contract offer for 8 months as a recruiter and I am unsure whether to accept. I have 9 months of savings left. Did a contract become permanent?

If savings are low, I would accept and keep applying. You can leave for a permanent role if one appears.
