Weighing a contract offer against waiting after 3 years as a store manager

A permanent role may come up, but the contract starts now. There are 3 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. The contract could extend. How did you handle benefits?

If savings are low, I would accept and keep applying. You can leave for a permanent role if one appears.
