Weighing a contract offer against waiting after 14 years as a project coordinator

I got a contract offer for 14 months as a project coordinator and I am unsure whether to accept. There are 14 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have 9 months of savings left. What would you do?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
