Weighing a contract offer against waiting - 7 months and counting

A permanent role may come up, but the contract starts now. There are 15 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. The contract could extend. Did a contract become permanent?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
