Weighing a contract offer against waiting - 7 months and counting

A permanent role may come up, but the contract starts now. There are 9 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have 7 months of savings left. Did a contract become permanent?

If savings are low, I would accept and keep applying. You can leave for a permanent role if one appears.
