Weighing a contract offer against waiting - 6 months and counting

A permanent role may come up, but the contract starts now. I worked as a warehouse supervisor before this. I would gain recent experience. What would you do?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
