Weighing a contract offer against waiting - 6 months and counting

A permanent role may come up, but the contract starts now. I worked as an accounts payable clerk before this. I have 6 months of savings left. Did a contract become permanent?

If savings are low, I would accept and keep applying. You can leave for a permanent role if one appears.
