Weighing a contract offer against waiting - 4 months and counting

A permanent role may come up, but the contract starts now. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I would gain recent experience. How did you handle benefits?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.

If savings are low, I would accept and keep applying. You can leave for a permanent role if one appears.
