Weighing a contract offer against waiting - 4 months and counting

I got a contract offer for 14 months as a retail manager and I am unsure whether to accept. I do not usually post, so bear with me. The contract could extend.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
