Weighing a contract offer against waiting - 18 weeks in

I got a contract offer for 13 months as a customer-service rep and I am unsure whether to accept. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. The contract could extend. What would you do?

Ask about extension likelihood and whether the team has hired contractors before.
