Weighing a contract offer against waiting - 11 months and counting

I got a contract offer for 6 months as an IT help-desk technician and I am unsure whether to accept. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I have 11 months of savings left. What would you do?

Buy coverage through the marketplace if the contract has none. I budgeted for it before signing.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
