Weighing a contract offer against waiting - 10 weeks in

I got a contract offer for 8 months as a bookkeeper and I am unsure whether to accept. The contract could extend. What would you do?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 11 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
