Weighing a contract offer against waiting - 10 months and counting

A permanent role may come up, but the contract starts now. It has been a long 19 weeks. I have 10 months of savings left. What would you do?

If savings are low, I would accept and keep applying. You can leave for a permanent role if one appears.
