They asked my salary range, what should I say?, customer-service rep here

I have been out of work for 26 weeks and feel pressure to accept less. It has been a long 26 weeks. I looked up ranges in Raleigh and they vary a lot. Does giving a range hurt?

I gave a range based on local postings and said I was flexible depending on the whole package. They did not push back.

Benefits matter too. A slightly lower rate with better coverage was better for me.
