They asked my salary range, what should I say? after 15 years as a software tester

Sofia Eriksen · 2026-09-26T15:22:38.074Z

A recruiter asked for my salary expectations on a first call as I look for work as a software tester. There are 15 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I also do not want to sell myself short. How do you research fairly?

Asking about the range for the role first worked for me. Some recruiters share it.
