Temp-to-hire offer, worth it? - what worked for you?

I got a contract offer for 10 months as a graphic designer and I am unsure whether to accept. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I have 9 months of savings left. How did you handle benefits?

Buy coverage through the marketplace if the contract has none. I budgeted for it before signing.
