Temp-to-hire offer, worth it? - what worked for you?

I got a contract offer for 4 months as a welding apprentice and I am unsure whether to accept. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I have 2 months of savings left. Did a contract become permanent?

Buy coverage through the marketplace if the contract has none. I budgeted for it before signing.
